Friends, enemies, veins of ore: take your pick

Raised in exile, the children of the Dragonhammer Clan embark on a quest to retake their ancient home. A century ago, the legendary city of Skrasforge fell. Ancient enemies and foul alliances proved more than the defenders could withstand. The few survivors fled, finding refuge among the humans of Halibut Harbor. Their leader, Gradrak Dragonhammer, vowed never to return to the site of such horrendous tragedy.

Now, the dwarves who grew up the on stories of their homesick elders want to reclaim their lost heritage. The sacred mountain of their ancestors beckons, and their blood yearns for a life they never knew.

Gradrak's youngest brother, Hyall, leads an expedition north, guiding his son and other children of his kin in search of a way to safely scout the old mountain, settle nearby, and plot an overthrow of the usurpers of their birthright. He doesn't live to see the mountain. The younger generation, on their own without an elder's guidance, must relearn time-honored skills that life among humans has ill-prepared them for.

Mining.

Foraging for the mushrooms that will restore their lost ability to see in darkness.

Carving untamed rock into homes.

And proving to the outside world that their little outpost on the edge of civilization (and well below it) is worth fighting for.

The quest to reclaim Skrasforge and restore it to its former glory will take all that these hardy young dwarves have and all that they can learn. It will be a trial of hardship and toil, of danger and misfortune, but in the end, they will discover the greatest treasure of all…

… HOME.

The Dragonhammer Saga isn't the story of one dwarf, but of the whole clan. If you want the whole vibe of dwarves as hard-drinking, hard-working, family oriented, and tougher than nails (or just about anything else), then this is the series for you. If you prefer your dwarves as gruff, bearded miners who might occasionally break into song, good news: this is also the series for you!
